A bad negotiator doesn’t just lose deals. They cost their clients real money. 💸
Had a situation on our team recently that illustrates this perfectly.
A seller dropped their price. An agent came in with an offer $30K below the NEW reduced price AND asked for a $12K credit on top of that. That’s $42,000 below adjusted price. Nearly 10% of the home’s value. 😬
The seller didn’t even respond.
And here’s the real damage. That buyer now has ZERO leverage. If they come back with a second offer, the seller already knows how bad they want it. The cards are on the table and they’re not yours.
The whole point of negotiation is to find that sweet spot where the other side actually responds. Because when they respond, they show their hand. And when you can see their hand, THAT is where you find the best deal for your client. 🃏
Whether it’s price, terms, or repairs, if you can’t get the other side to engage, you’ve already lost.
Learn to negotiate. From your broker, your team leader, a training class. Doesn’t matter. Just learn it. Your clients are counting on you. 🤝
