I personally own two homes with rates under 3% and if I ever had to move I am renting them out before I ever give up those rates. That locked in rate is a financial asset. You don’t walk away from an asset like that. 🏡💰
76% of homeowners still have a rate under 6%. Over half of those with rates under 3% say they would not trade it for anything. With rates sitting at 7% right now the math does not lie.
But 10 to 20% of homeowners ARE still planning to move in the next 2 to 5 years because life does not wait for a perfect rate. 📦
